This event ONLY applies to all WR4x and the 2 Duets in WR3x. If this is you, PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION.
Events are Team, Duet, and Figures. All athletes qualifying for Alberta Winter Games will compete in Airdrie February 14-17, 2020. Registration on AWG Website REQUIRED. We are ZONE 6.
All athletes and coaches of the Alberta Winter Games Trials will be required to register for the Alberta Games on-line at www.albertawintergames.ca. This database opens on November 1st and all zone trials participants must be registered by December 1st . WE ARE ZONE 6. This information will be used by Alberta Sport Connection in the event you qualify for the Games.
Anyone interested in chaperoning must also be registered on the Alberta Winter Games database by December 1st. Chaperones will be contacted following the zone qualifier announcements and will only be contacted if spots are not filled by coaches.
HOW TO REGISTER:
1. Go to the Alberta Winter Games web page: www.albertawintergames.ca
2. Click on "Sport Information" to access registration for an ATHLETE, COACH, OR MANAGER/CHAPERONE
3. The page like below will generate. Note: This area contains links to access Participant Registration, Technical Officials
Registration, the Administration Login and technical package for each sport in the Games
Click on "Register Here" below the Icon of their Sport.
A personal information page will generate. Participants must fill in all fields on the on-line form - completed Waiver of
Liability & Release Form upload, sport-specific, personal, and health/medical information
Combined family cheques or club cheques will be returned. Athletes who do not qualify will have their cheques shredded. PLEASE BRING THIS CHEQUE TO PRACTICE AND GIVE IT TO THE COACH BEFORE NOVEMBER 23.

7:00am - 7:30am: Lap warm up
7:30 - 8:00: Figure warm up
8:00am - 10:00am: Figure Competition
10:00am - 10:30am: Break
10:30am - 10:45am: Lap warm up
10:45am - 11:15am: Duet warm up (two groups)
11:15am - 12:45pm: Duet competition
12:45pm - 1:15pm: Break
1:15pm - 1:30pm: Laps
1:30pm - 2:15pm: Team warm up (three groups)
2:15pm - 3:45pm: Team competition
VOLUNTEERS
Alberta Artistic Swimming will be looking for volunteers to assist at this meet. Please let your members know that we need their help and that it's easy to sign up for the volunteer position of their choice at the meet. Please contact Kim Statchan at k.strachan13@gmail.com and indicate which position you wish to fill and any time limitations you may have. In addition to this if any parents plan on attending the event as a spectator then please consider volunteering during the event.
The following positions will need to be filled: 2 people/shift (2 to 3 shifts):
o Hospitality for Official's - food and beverages will be provided by Alberta Artistic Swimming, an individual
will be needed to manage the official's room.
FIGURES: 1 shift
o Figure Panel Referee #1 (need 4) - Calls out the judge's marks to the score people
o Figure Panel Marshal (need 4) - Ensures the order of the swimmers and prompts each swimmer
o Score People for Figures (need 12) - Record the judges scores
ROUTINES: 2 shifts (Duets, Teams)
o Timers (need 3) - Times all routines (walkout, deck work and routine times)
o Music Manager - manages the music throughout the event as per the referee's directions
o Routines: Runners (need 2) - collect the chits from the Judges
Positions will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
CHAPERONE INFORMATION:
Please note that each zone is allowed 3 coaches or chaperones. In most cases these spots will be filled by coaches. In the event there is room and necessity for a parent chaperone, qualifiers in the respective zone will be contacted.
